Yes, but who are you?

Atto is a three-partner multi-disciplinary team based in Belfast, Northern Ireland. We've worked together since 2005 on carefully selected projects for great clients with a reach, breadth and depth afforded to us by a talented, trusted network of thinkers and practicioners. Our names are Heather, Karys and Pete.

Heather Kerr is a truly creative thinker and a talented designer. Her leftfield approach to projects brings a refreshing balance to the Atto team. A multiple award-winning illustrator, Heather also has experience in advertising, a first class honours degree and has lectured on behalf of NESTA and the University of Ulster.

 
Karys Wilson Photo

Karys Wilson is a talented designer and thinker with a particular flair for how things work. Since joining Atto, Karys has lead projects in brand development, product development, packaging design, animation and user experience design. Karys holds a first class honours degree in Design for Visual Communication.

 
Peter Kerr Photo

Peter Kerr specialises in strategy, with a particular knack for getting to the real root of a creative brief and pairing it with a solution. Pete helps our clients connect the dots between creative ideas and execution — between their values and their actions. Pete also has a first class honours degree in DVC.

 

Yes, ok, but what do you do for a living? Not telling.

If only it were that easy. Well, the business-y term is solution-neutral. Simply put, we help you define whatever's best for your business or non-profit, then we work out how to do it.

Sometimes the outcome is a web site. Sometimes it's a new name or a new shop or a new product range. Sometimes it's about changing how you answer the phone. Your best chance of getting your head around what we do is to have a look at lots of our work.

Positive Net Effect. Oh it's all so very worthy

Business is business? Blah. There are 1000 business-y excuses for not being credible, honest or transparent, but we're simply not convinced. Our business (and your business) will have an effect in its industry, on the people it deals with and on the world it inhabits. We want to make sure that ours is a positive one.

We don't have a manifesto, a mission statement or a white paper on goodness — we rely on a mixture of research and instinct. That said, a few simple rules have emerged that have served us well:

We don't lie to our clients and we don't lie for our clients.
It keeps things simple and lets us get on with the real work.

We only take on projects and clients that we genuinely want to see succeed.
This is unusual, but it's a no-brainer for us. It means we're part of our clients' team from day one. By only taking on projects we'd want see succeed, we ensure that we're in it for the right reasons. Money frees us up to do a great job — that's it.

We don't short-change our clients with cheap work.
We're not interested in delivering cheapness — we're committed to delivering value. We help our clients succeed by focusing on what's right for them within an appropriate budget. If we don't think a project will provide a good return on your investment we'll help you define something better. Our clients really appreciate that — take a look at some case studies.
